Historie
|
Over a century ago, in 1887, a firm was established in Hanover under the name of Rheinhold & Co. Vereinigte Norddeutsche und Dessauer Kieselguhr-Gesellschaft.
A few years later, in 1896, the firm of C. u. E. Mahla GmbH was established in Nuremberg. More than sixty years elapsed before the two firms were merged into a single company, Rheinhold & Mahla, the name it still bears today. In 1974 the company's shares were acquired by Bayer AG, Leverkusen, which sold them again in 1990 when Rheinhold & Mahla - hitherto a private limited company - went public. An initial public offering of shares was made in 1991. Reorganization in 1995 resulted in the structure of a holding company with five autonomous divisional companies. A series of major acquisitions in 1999 made Rheinhold & Mahla the largest group operating internationally in the field of industrial insulation and the European market leader. Following restructuring in 2001, the Group is active on the industrial side in Industrial Insulation and Services, Ships Insulation and Outfitting and Technical Services. Its business also extends to Building Services. In 2002, Rheinhold & Mahla joined the Bilfinger Berger multiservice group, a move which is decisively spurring its evolution into an international industrial services provider. In 2006 name changed from Rheinhold & Mahla AG to Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG. Revised lambda symbol for operative companies in Europe. |
